I am so excited that we are now one day away from our Centennial Kickoff Mass and Celebration! It is shaping up to be an amazing celebration.
We will begin with Mass at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) on the grounds of Lakewood Catholic Academy. Please remember this is our Saturday parish Mass. We will not celebrate Mass in the church at St. Luke tomorrow evening.
We have made the decision to move the Mass into the gymnasium at Lakewood Catholic Academy. With all the rain coming through between now and the celebration of Mass, the ground will be too saturated to celebrate the Mass outside. This will not affect the celebration to follow in the rear of the property as everything will be under tents.
For those not familiar with the location of Lakewood Catholic Academy, it is on Lake Avenue just west of Lakewood Park.
Please plan to arrive early for Mass. There is limited parking at Lakewood Catholic Academy. You may need to park at Lakewood Park or on one of the nearby streets. Staff from Lakewood Catholic Academy will be at all the main doors of the campus to help direct you to the gym. A very special thank you to them! The nearest door to the gym is the CYO entrance (blue awning) near the northeast corner of the campus off of the smaller rear parking lot.
The party will begin right after Mass. We will make announcements at Mass regarding where to go to pick up your prepaid clambake tickets and where and how to purchase other food and drink items. The King’s Men ministry will have men scattered throughout the back of the property to help direct those coming after the celebration of Mass.
I can’t wait to celebrate this kickoff Mass and to spend time partying with all of you!
