In February, St. Luke conducted its first parish mission trip to El Salvador.  Fr. Kevin and the parishioners on that trip have established a parish El Salvador Ministry.

This ministry is open to all from any parish who wish to participate.  The goal of the ministry is to build up the Body of Christ by growing connections between Chiltiupan, El Salvador and St. Luke Parish and the Lakewood Community.

See below regarding donation opportunities, parish activities and two mission trips in 2025.

Financial:  Our goal is to raise $20,000 in 2024 that will:

  • Provide a salary for a critically needed third teacher for the eight grades taught at Cuervo Abajo school
  • Rebuild functioning bathrooms at Cuervo Abajo school
  • Build bathrooms with plumbing to replace outhouses at the chapel and shrine in Santiago Nonualco, site of the martyrdom of Jean Donovan (former St. Luke Parishioner), Sr. Dorothy Kazel, Sr. Ita Ford and Sr Maureen Clarke
  • Provide housing, bedding and food to those most in need

Donations can be made cash or check (please make payable to “St. Luke Church” and note “Salvador Ministry” in memo line) or by using this QR code that connects to FaithDirect.

Ever wonder why St. Luke Church has this shrine to Martyrs of El Salvador?
